Class Journal #8
Alright so say there's a powerpoint presentation. It can be structured to fit the blooms taxonomy because The first few slides could be presenting new information, possibly in a couple different ways, maybe with a bit of lecturing about it and then a video. next is understanding so describing further what that new information entails. For applying, talking about specific ways the information could be applied to different subject areas with a bulleted list on the powerpoint. For analyze, encouraging students to use this information with some class participation and discussion questions on the slides. for evaluating, making a summary at the end of all the points talked about prioritizing and justifying the information. For create, this could be a call to action at the end to go apply the information in a new setting.
We have been learning a lot of interesting new skills with Diigo over the past few weeks! We learned about annotating and bookmarking websites for sharing, and posting topic threads for discussion. This could applied for the future in joining groups about topics that i am interested in so i will be able to discuss then while building my personal learning network. Diigo is basically a PLN development tool I would say. It would be helpful for class if we needed to have a discussion for homework or share websites about a topic. It would be better for older students i think like high school age so they can easily learn how to use the website and have access to it.
Teachers are the force behind development of technology because we are the ones who need it. no one is thinking oh those poor teachers don't have enough technology like that is not on anyone social agenda really. Or at least on very few people's social agendas. Therefore, we are in the situation and know our needs best, so it is best that teachers develop their own technology or at least know what they need to ask for. a website that I found to keep updated on the latest technology is called EduTech Mag. it is an interesting blog type website that has a bunch of writers to keep educators aware of the resources that could be available to them! super awesome.
