Introduction
Hey class! My name is Marena. I grew up here in Florida, about two blocks from the beach. I enjoy music; some of my favorites are Pinegrove and Joyce Manor. Taylor Swift is my guilty pleasure for music though. My favorite animal is a shark. A fun fact is that I've been on a road trip with my friends all the way from Florida to Vermont! We stopped in Savannah, New York City, and a few other cities.
I haven't used a ton of technology with teaching in the past. I volunteer at the library in the literacy program, and we use a computer to go on the US Citizenship website because my student is studying for the Citizenship test. There are cool little interactive activities on the website, so that some neat technology to assist in learning. In my own public school experience, we used the regular smartboard and whiteboards. When I was in college the first time, I was an art student, so the type of technology we used consisted of easels, sketchbooks, sewing machines, and charcoal. I really enjoyed this diverse range of tools that we used to learn and create.
This class will hopefully provide me with more skills in communication. I hope to communicate effectively as a teacher, and exploring the tools that are available to me seems like a good place to start. I am excited to interact with other people who have similar interests in teaching. I hope this class will be useful in the future.

Hello Marena, I also love listening to music and Taylor Swift hits close to home every time! It's awesome how you volunteer at the library and that you're helping out your student study for the Citizenship test. On another note, I also want to know how to integrate my voice within technology to communicate with my prospective students. Since I want to be an Elementary educator knowing all the cool shortcuts with technology will be time efficient. Great introduction!
